Teen Writing

If you've got a teenager, you know how important it is to teach him or her to write well.  Write Well, Write Now offers a variety of writing courses specifically designed to teach writing to busy teens.  Click on "Write Well, Write Now Home" to the left to discover the many areas and ways in which we can teach writing to today's teenagers.

Second Language Learners

Write Well, Write Now is designed for English Language Learners and native speakers alike.  Some of our unique online learning features specifically benefit our ELL populations.

Short Lessons
Write Well, Write Now lessons average two pages each and are written at an easy readability level.   We do not want the reading level or the length of the lesson to get in the way of the specific concept being taught.

Specific Standards
Each lesson teaches one element of specific California writing English Language Arts standards.

Why?

We don't confuse our students.  English Language Learners need to be able to grasp and practice individual concepts during our lessons, and then integrate that knowledge into their authentic writing samples.

Lots of Opportunity to Practice
If we were only a program of "online lessons" we wouldn't be effective in the teaching of writing.   "Worksheets alone" are NOT the answer to successful mastery of writing.   Instead, we pair each student one-on-one with a highly qualified mentor teacher who reads and critiques each week's writing assignment and provides substantive and specific feedback designed to support rapid learner growth.

Understanding and Methodical
Our mentor teachers act as individual writing coaches.   Each student is coached in three areas:  Knowledge of writing concepts, skills, grammar, usage, punctuation, mechanics, etc.; Confidence (developed through practice) to be able to successfully integrate their new-found knowledge into their work; and Preparation – our students leave our course prepared to face the rigors of the academic world head-on.
