College Writing

Whether your child is still in high school, is preparing for college, or is already in college, our Write Well, Write Now scholarly writing course teaches college writing in a way that is understandable and easy to grasp.  Our students make rapid progress in just a few short weeks because we've designed each week of instruction to be the most efficient for rapid writing ability gains.  All of our programs are flexible and convenient and fit well into the busy schedules of our youth.

Top Notch Students
We teach many AP English high school students in our 8-week scholarly writing course.  Why?  Because these outstanding students benefit from one-on-one tutoring to help them hone their skills to the highest possible levels.   They also enjoy learning from their own, private Personal Start Page. Because our program has the capacity to begin at exactly the level of the student's needs, we "skip the dumb stuff" and jump right to the areas where we can help a student sharpen their skills and master advanced writing techniques.

Besides, even the best AP English teachers simply don't have the time to teach how to fully reference and use correctly formatted APA (or MLA) citations.

"Average" students
Some of our favorite students are "C" students because after they leave our course, they become "A" students, and that feels really, really good for all of us.

We get plenty of thank you letters from grateful high school and college students, thanking us for helping them gain the skills they need to learn college writing.   Our Mentor Teachers are gratified when they can help a "C" student turn into an "A" student in just a few weeks.

English Language Learners
Our most popular program for English Language Learners is our 6 month tutoring program ($1299).  We offer extended online coaching because we recognize that English Language Learners need more than 2 months of tutoring to master complex English writing skills!

As a faith-based corporation, we won't lie to you:   It takes time and diligent practice to become skilled in English.   Our program is not a "quick fix".  Instead, it is good, solid instruction and plenty of practice, critique, and revision time.

Our program is designed to straighten out difficulties and misconceptions in word usage, punctuation, sentence construction, and the logic and flow of ideas.

Students with Disabilities
Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing:  We've got lessons designed at the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th grade readability levels – lessons with colorful pictures to link visual connections to the world of writing.  Each lesson for our deaf and hard-of-hearing population is designed to teach a tiny slice of writing knowledge so that we do not overwhelm our students with too much confusing information.  Instead, they are sequential and build rapidly so that our students learn comfortably and quickly.

ADD; ADHD – Because we have an online environment and many ADD and ADHD students are comfortable with computer usage, our program is excellent in the teaching of writing.   It "weeds out" distracting sounds and instead focuses the brain on the visual aspect of learning, with a bit of kinesthetic (typing) tossed in.

"Slow" Learners:  Some students are labeled "slow" learners because they need more chances at repetition in order to achieve mastery.  Our Write Well, Write Now program is outstanding because our mentor teachers are patient and understanding and experienced.  While still expecting high standards and excellent participation, our learners get to learn at their own pace.  If they need extra time to practice concepts before moving forward, we are pleased to help.

Students learn as rapidly as they can learn – in other words, if they master a concept quickly, we don't bore them or waste their time by dwelling on the concept over and over again (this is one of the problems with special education classes… students are artificially held down by the teachers who don't move them rapidly through a concept when they've already demonstrated they have mastered it).
